2017 Farm Progress Show
Brand New BRON Plow Lateral Installation
During the 3-day, 2017 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL, ILICA showcased the installation of over 30 acres of pattern tile drainage and a 30'x40' denitrifying bioreactor. The exceptionally great weather for the end of August yielded great attendance and made in-field work comfortable for all volunteers. With assistance from the Illinois Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), in-field attendees learned exactly what bioreactors look like, how bioreactors function, and what services bioreactors provide water quality management here in IL.
This demonstration was considered a great success. It not only showcased our industry’s involvement and commitment to Illinois’s nutrient loss reduction goals and water quality improvement, but it also provided hands-on education to ILICA volunteers and in-field education to the agricultural community. However, without the concerted effort of all our members and partners involved, ILICA would not be capable of this critical type of industry and public education, which is so crucial to helping Illinois move the needle on its nutrient loss reduction goals. THANK YOU to all the following involved with this great project.
Our sincere thanks goes out to our generous Associates and partners for their donations including equipment, materials, and manpower:
